The following features of the map were used:
- Town “Tortuga” has the second level of Mage Guild, containing the “Summon Boat” spell.
- Town “Quick Silver” has the spells “Dimension Door” and “Elemental Storm” spells.
- Town “Willow” on day 10 has all the buildings necessary for construction of Phoenix’ “Red Tower”.
- Phoenix always moves first, and is immune to the “Elemental Storm” spell.
- The map is ”territorially linked” (e.g. with the help of “Dimension Door” you can move from any point of the map to any other point without using a boat).
- The map is “magically linked” (e.g. there are wells on the map, and there also is a town, from which you may reach the well with a single cast of “Dimension Door”, “Forder Oaks”).
- After retreating (surrendering) the hero may be rehired with maximum movement points.
- After retreating (surrendering) the hero may replenish his spell points by visiting a well.
//* usage of points 7,8 had been officially allowed by the Supreme Magister in the corresponding topic of the Tavern *//
- The map has a sufficient number of artifacts and objects, allowing to raise a hero’s “knowledge” and “magic power” without raising his level.
- The map is “thickly rich” (e.g. it has a large number of treasure chests, laying close to one another, and lots of floating objects, filled with resources and gold).
- Many of the enemy heroes satisfy the following requirements:
- No one is swimming.
- When all of the enemy heroes are alive, you have enough movement points to travel «town – town – enemy hero», or «town – town – wandering monster», and for every enemy town you can find a satellite-town of your own on the specified route.
- With any number of living enemy heroes, you have enough movement points for one of the following routes:
- «town – enemy hero – enemy hero»
- «town – enemy hero – town – wandering monster»
- Almost every battle, when the Phoenix is present, can be won by a single cast of “Elemental Storm” spell. The exceptions are the battles against some of the wandering monsters, when the Phoenix is able to win without using magic.
Thus, the game is divided into two parts:
- «Preparatory» - before learning the “Dimension Door” spell. The main goal is to collect as much gold and resources as possible, and develop Sinoptic’s “Wisdom”.
- «Battle» - after learning the “Dimension Door” spell. The main goal is to optimize your jumping, battles and retreating (surrendering) in order to finish the game on the same day.
The map was passed in the following route:
Quick Silver (level 5 of Mage Guild is built here for learning DD) – Forder Oaks – Willow (the Red Tower is built) – Westmoor (haven’t built anything here and later).
From there, moved to the mainland necromancers: Brindamoor - SandCaster to the north – Lakeside to the east – NightShadow in the center.
Regrouped at Lakeside and jumped to: Hillstone –Whiteshield to the south – Bloodreign farther to the south – Burlock southmost.
From Lakeside jumped to: Corackston – Blackwind to the south-east – Pinehurst to the south – Greywind to the north – Woodhaven and Blackridge.
Regrouped at NightShadow and jumped to Vertigo.
Sinoptic attacked Munika by rush (e.g. jump to Munika – cast – surrender – repeat). That was the last battle before victory.
Result: 10 days.
